Free on Android · One-time fee on iPhone
Find a place of worship near you
Rumah Ibadah shows the mosques, churches, temples, viharas, synagogues and gurdwaras around you on one map. It also lets you read holy books in their original language, with a translation next to it.
Free on Android. $1.56 once on iPhone. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases. Why the difference?

Live data from OpenStreetMap, with distance, address and a directions button.
Filter by religion
Colour-coded pins for eight religions. Show one, or show them all.
Original text plus translation
Arabic, Hebrew, Greek, Sanskrit, Pali, Gurmukhi and Classical Chinese, verse by verse, next to a translation you can read.
Three languages
The app works in Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu and English. The translation follows the language you choose.
No account, no tracking
No sign-up, no ads, no analytics. Your location is only used to ask the map for nearby places.
Android, iPhone and web
The same app everywhere. Large scripts and right-to-left text are supported.
Eight holy books, in their own script
Every text comes from an open, licensed source. The original is on one side and the translation on the other. If there is no Indonesian or Malay translation yet, the app shows English and tells you.
Free on Android. A small one-time fee on iPhone.

Common questions
Is it free?
On Android, yes, with no ads or in-app purchases. On iPhone it costs $1.56 once. That covers Apple's yearly developer fee. Both versions have the same features.
Which religions are covered?
Islam, Christianity (Protestant and Catholic), Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism and Sikhism, plus any other place tagged as a place of worship on OpenStreetMap.
A place is missing or wrong. What can I do?
The map comes from OpenStreetMap, which is maintained by volunteers. You can add or fix the place at openstreetmap.org and it will show up in the app after the data refreshes. Please check opening hours with the venue before you go.
Where do the translations come from?
Only from open or openly licensed sources, never from machine translation. For example the Indonesian AYT and World English Bible from the HelloAO Bible API, Qur'an translations from alquran.cloud, the JPS Tanakh from Sefaria, SuttaCentral for the Dhammapada, and GurbaniNow for the Guru Granth Sahib. Each reader names its source.
Does the app collect my data?
No. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising. Your coordinates are only sent to the OpenStreetMap services that answer "what is near me". The only thing saved on your phone is your language choice. See the Privacy Policy.
Does it work offline?
The map and most books need an internet connection. The Analects and the Tao Te Ching are built into the app and work offline.
Is Rumah Ibadah linked to a religious organisation?
No. It is an independent app that treats every religion equally. It does not promote any faith, give religious rulings or collect donations.
How do I get help?
Email support or use the contact link on the store page. Please mention your phone model and the app version from the About page.
